It's been a while since Linux Graphics Users forum has held a contest for our members.  We've all been busy over the spring and summer with work, the kids home from school, planning vacations or life in general.  Now it's time to have some fun.

Grin   LGU is happy to announce our 1st Fall/Winter Linux graphics art contest.  Grin

The contest starts Friday the 30th of October and runs until December 27th midnight.  Winners will be announced sometime the following week.  Feel free to ask any questions.

Here are the guidelines.....   Please read them before submitting any graphics to the contest.

The artwork has to be done keeping in mind the theme must be a Fall/Winter seasonal or holiday theme.

Only open source (Linux) graphics software can be used.

Entries must be no bigger than 800x600

The following are acceptable, scenes, banners, icons, avatars and manipulated photographs.

If you enter a manipulated photo please include the original to show the extent and quality of the changed photo.

Please, no distro names on artwork. We all have our favorite Linux os. Let's keep this contest distro neutral.

There is a two entry limit per person.

All work must be original to the artist.

Keep it clean so viewers of all ages can enjoy the entries. No nudity, profanity or political content.

If you're not sure whether the content is ok to submit, ask us first.

Linux Graphics Users administration reserves the right to disallow and or delete any entry they deem inappropriate or unsuitable with reference to set Linux Graphics Users forum standards.

By submitting an entry in the contest, you understand and agree that you are subject to the above guidelines.

Hope everyone has fun participating and no matter if you're a budding artist or a pro, we're looking forward to seeing great examples of what can be accomplished using Linux graphics software in all the artwork submitted.

Entries will be judged on originality, cleverness, creativity, imagination and attention to detail.

To add to the fun,  Linux Graphics Users forum is offering prizes to the 1st and 2nd place winners.  Grin

While I think I understand what you mean when you place linux in parentheses, Do you mean that we can only use linux workstations or is it limited to software that runs on linux?

Sorry if it's not clear.  You must use open source graphics software running on a Linux based operating system.  Is that better?
