Add a custom Gimp start-up splash screen.

First you need an image sized preferably around 400x300.  Save it as a png image.

As root go to Home then up arrow to admin files then usr then share.  Now scroll down to Gimp file then version file then images.  You should now see the gimp splash png.  Delete the splash and copy your new one there.

Important that you rename your image to "gimp-splash.png" exactly or it won't show when you start gimp.

  Below is my custom image.

  Have fun.

  Thanks Jaws.

The Luigi splash is my start to changing my os over to an LGU theme.

What about ArtistX? There's not much that anybody would or could use that's not in that already. And it is very stable and easy to keep up-to-date. It's been my every-day OS since I first found it.

You inspired me to have a try and I simply put a photograph of the earth, taken from a space station, to replace the image of the earth in the official splash image.

based on

and the official splash image.
