The old ( (c) 1985 ) Documentary about the civil rights movement in the United States "Eyes on the Prize" is currently being re-broadcasted by PBS for the first time in over 20 years. The documentary is filled with tons of important news footage that just isn't publicly available anywhere and is undoubtedly one of the more important sources for a cursory understanding of what people were forced to go through in their efforts to have equal legal rights.
