Hi everyone.

It's actually the first time I've used inkscape, but I managed to create a logo that consists
of some letters and a few separate rectangles/lines.
Now I don't know how to kind of select/bind/glue it together so that I could resize automatically
the whole thing, not its elements.
I hope it makes sense.

thank you

If you have multiple layers make them all  active then select all of the with the select tool ( first one on the tool bar at left) then Ctrl + G all done. To ungroup do select then  Shift + Ctrl +G.

Hi Portia,

Welcome to LGU.

As Sawer said, use the select tool, click, hold, and surround all your elements so they are all chosen. I have a hard time remembering all the keyboard shortcuts so I use the button in the command bar to group or ungroup my selection.

Cheers ~ Ed

ctrl A

that will select everything that you have then you can resize it from there

or you can ctrl A then click on the padlock on the toolbar and it will lock everything so if you resize it all will be changed together

if you want to select just a few items of everything you have

hold down shift key and then use your mouse and click on the ones you want to select -

You can also go to Objects > Group or Un group.
Thanks KM, I forgot about  Ctrl + A.

I sometime get  mixed up between Inkscape and XaraLX
