I use  Ubuntu Gnome and love this distribution.
Can I ask you something about Graphic Design in Linux?

I don't want this post to be something like somebody vs somebody just want to know are application like
Gimp and Inkscape can be powerful tools for Professional Graphic Design. To choose this tools for that
I really love Ubuntu and don't want to use Windows but want to know is possible to improve my skills in this field and
someday to become professional Graphic Designer who work like freelancer because I'm from I a little town and don't want to move to a big city.I love a quiet place. It will be great if I can talk with some professional designers with some advice:)

Hi Niki, welcome to the forum.

Sorry I'm not a professional designer but the tools you mentioned, Gimp, Inkscape are professional applications for the most part and can do just about anything Windows apps can do, less a great deal of expense that, for instance, Adobe programs cost.

The challenge will be your dedication to learning these programs and your artistic skills. We can help you with the first part, learning to use these tools. The trick will be developing your talent as a graphics designer and applying what you learn.

There are a great many sites on graphics design that you can learn about what other in the field are doing but from year to year style and design changes. What is "in" one year is out the next. Of course you can develop your own artistic style and set your own trends.

Good luck.

Welcome, Niki!!!

I'm sure with some effort you can be a wonderful graphic artist!!! There are many wonderful people here who can help. (Not me, I'm not professional either - I'm still learning myself!)

Nice to have you here!    Grin
