My name is Erie Patsellis, I have been a graphic artist since well before computers (since around '82) and have extensive experience with computer graphics since the pre-Macintosh days. (my first graphics computer was an Apple Lisa!) I use a multitude of applications, pretty much all the prevelent DTP/graphics apps (CS5, Corel, Quark, Creo) across numerous platforms (Winx86, Macintosh, Linux/X86) and am glad to find other crazies with similar interests. I've worked in a variety of fields, from signshops, to offset printing shops, to high end lithography studios, and am familiar with the operation of virtually every piece of equipment in them. After operating our own sign shop and design firm for several years, my wife and I decided to close the sign shop and focus on the design work exclusively a few years ago.
I've recently returned to school to finish a BFA and get my MFA, hopefully enabling me to teach, and my design business is now a part time endeavor.
Some of my other interests include flying, woodworking and metal fabrication, photography (both conventional, silver based imaging in all formats to 20"x24" and digital) and intaglio printmaking, photogravure and carbon printing.
I'm hoping I can be of help and make a positive contribution to the forum.
