Hey there Nc,
Glad to have you here as part of LGU. What's your favorite graphics app? And could you share some things you've done?
Welcome, Dadster

Wacom and mypaint, yep that's the cat's meow; great brush set. Hope you share with us some drawings.
Ed

Welcome Ncmprhnsbl!
A wacom bamboo ct450.. Sounds nice, since you have both windows and linux, how do you find its usability in linux compared to windows and did you have to do anything to get it set up correctly with linux?

great brush set based on a cowabunga brush engine i have messed with inkscape and xara a bit. this puppy i'm using even has inkscapelite. there are definate advantages with the svg format....one day
yes the trusty wacom had it maybe two or so years, still works, i'm happy. win 7 64bit is a bit funny...seems all lovely with handwriting at every text input and such, but then theres the lag in painting apps and menu conflicts etc...so after disabling all the microsoft stuff(as much as you can) it is ok.. full function and all buttons/zoom pclos, ubuntu(lucid64), openartist(karmic32) all autodetect with nothing to be done. gui config not presently functioning and not the latest xorg driver puppy 5.2 is a little trickier to get going but has a newer xdriver with the zoom function fixed. ...i would say that most distros using newer kernels should support tablets without major dramas.. maybe....

Ncmprhnsbl, really good to know that as the tablet I have (not a wacom), pretty much has a mind of its own.

Welcome, Ncm....!!! You are extremely lucky or something, because my daughter has a Bamboo CTH-661 and we've fought for about 2 years to get it going in PCLOS!!!! We finally installed VirtualBox with WinXP and it's running there (maybe it's me!!!! LOL) Hope to see some of your artwork soon!!! This is a wonderful forum! We all cheer for each other's work and help each other when we can.

sorry to hear as i remember, mine worked straight off on the live cd of pclos2009, i was most impressed. dont worry, i've hacked many a xorgconf and ditched many a distro getting there. there is an ever increasing range of input devices appearing these days , i'll be doing a good bit of research before i buy a new tablet.

^^ That is my concern regarding hopefully buying a graphics tablet that is actually useful.
Only a year or so when I had lots of free time, I was keen to find and make work unfriendly hardware. With a busy schedule now... I'm not sure I always enjoy brute forcing things to work any more...
I'm trying to say that it isn't a case of me being lazy, but more a case of I just don't have the time at the moment to spend 2 or 3 days to force something to work.. If there is something off the shelf that will just work then economically it makes much more sense in my position to take the lazy way out...

Welcome, Ncm! I've had fantasies of getting one of those tablets for years, but since I have Linux and refuse to use Windows,I have never got one.

I'm not even sure that is spam as such.. It sounds like the ex-member had been paid to spam but can't be bothered to commit to spam before being sensibly banned. If the ip is correct then..... Regardless, good morning Vietnam! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O1zfuBgCUqY
