steampunk first, took my old hardly used Graphire 2 and mounted it in an old laptop display lid. Then I put foamboard fillers on each side even with the drawing surface. Then a sheet of clear thin plastic over the whole surface. One reason I hated the Graphire 2 was it was too small. Now I have enough room to rest my hand and sweep across the drawing area without running off the device. It's a psyche-thing.

Then I ran across this site. They are working to support cheaper (not Wacom) drawing tablets in Linux. http://libregraphicsworld.org/blog/entry/digimend-makes-low-budget-graphic-tablets-just-work-on-linux
