Ok,where did they hide it? Why are they always changing things?
How do I make the brush, pencils, etc. smaller..it's really easy on the older Gimp, but I see no way to do it on the newest one. I'd sure appreciate some help here..This is actually on my new computer..I've still got the old one on here.

I'm on 2.6.12 and it seems normal. What version are you running?

edit: ah, I see the latest is 2.8
Well, pclos is on 2.6.12, so I'll be sticking with that until they change it I guess.
So many projects seem to like messing with their ux via gui changes too much these days.

For ubuntu users..
One way to install gimp 2.8 is:

Firstly uninstall (remove) the previous version and then:
Code:
    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:otto-kesselgulasch/gimp
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install gimp

Single window view:
This can be turned on/off from the windows menu.

Brush size...I see 4 ways to do that:
1) Mouse over the size slider (in my pic the orange bit) and drag to the right or left.
2) Click on the arrows in the size selector up and down.
3) Click on the size number and arrow up or down.
4) Click on the size number (in my pic 20) and type in what you want.
