LGU Forum Rules

The rules of this forum are simple. "PLAY NICE" All the basic rules of commonsense apply here.

No Profanity

No Pornography

No Insulting / Humiliating

No Flame Wars or One-Upmanship (for example, over distributions, software packages, or personal skills)

No Software Bashing

No spamming with commercial site links, whether in the body of your post or in the signature/profile. Spammers will be banned immediately.

If your IP is reported on Stop Forum Spam, you will be banned immediately.

Self Promotion:
Members in good standing and who actually contribute meaningful content, can self promote with signature links to their own web site with products they themselves sell.

Discussion of politics and/or religion are out of bound here. If you feel the need, there are many forums on the Internet you can go to for these discussions/arguments/name calling.

Posting Questions or Tutorials
If you have a question or tutorial to post, , we ask that you please do a quick search, to ensure the topic has not been addressed before. This saves a lot of time and aggrevation on many levels

Help Wanted Topics
If you are posting a "Help Wanted" ad for a project, please be as specific and descriptive as possible. Also, remember to post links to the projects pages.
If you are a member who is willing to take on a job for an outside project, remember that your time and skills are valuable, and asking for compensation is not unreasonable for deeply involved work , if it is for a profit based project
Once a member and the individual have agreements (whether a free service or paid) the discussions need to move to the forum of that specific project, and any further discussions here will be locked.
However, the LGU member is more than welcome to post items for said project here for critique, as well as posting questions related to their project work.
LGU, it's staff, and members... are not liable for any issues which might arise through personal agreements, and cannot be held accountable for such.

Comments of Critique
A quick note on the subject of criticism... If you are posting a comment or critique on the work of other members, remember that there is a very fine line between "critique" and "insulting".... That line is very thin, and it only takes a brief moment of thought to know the limits. Please be sure to preview your comments before posting to ensure there is no insulting subject.
There is a system for dealing with members who insult, humiliate, and/or degrade others... and it is a "3 strikes and you are out" policy.
