10 layers for each of the colors. The delay was set to ten, I think. Cheesy

Oh, I wish I could use the Gimp Sad, but no, I did it in Inkscape and used ImageMagick for the animation.

Yup.  Debian has one called GraphicsMagick.  If you have Alien installed you can probably convert it to an RPM package and install it.  I've also had one that showed up as 'Image Magick' in my Kmenu, but never made much use of it.
