Hi all,

I've been developing a lightweight and simple DVD slideshow maker in GTK+2, imagination. I'm in need of a brand new logo for it. Can you help me?

Thanks,
Colossus

I just happened to be trying to learn inkscape when I read your request, this came to mind. Its not very high tech but its the first thing I've ever made with inkscape. Smiley

Yes. Also keep in mind when you resize the logo to 24x24 everything changes. Could you change also the background color and remove the "imagination" word from the top of the logo?

Good Job indeed! Thank you. I like this logo. You have a good imagination! I noticed that when you resize the logo it is not so visible, maybe adjusting the colours something better comes out when you resize it to 24x24?

 That's nice too Dad...
I will try to make mine clearer, but it might be a few days.

Thank you. I appreciate your kindness. I've set up a simple page for Imagination. Anyone wants to improve it?

Hey Temp-user,

Though you may not stay here long, I wanted to wish you a welcome! It's good to know that our forum has reached you and I'm sure our members will be able to come up with and/or enable your new logo designs to get something to your liking.

If I may ask... How did you hear about the LGU forum?

If you're thinking of colors for your project 'look', now would be the time, since our artist can use them right away. For example, in the DVD Freddy drew, your 'colors' can be there instead of the light blue.

BTW, It's nice that you considered the artist and offered right away to recognize him/her in the 'About' window. That's classy.

@ Freddy

So you're "trying" to learn Inkscape... look out boys and girls... we're going to have a new Master of Inkscape.Wink    The 'DVD image' in your drawing is really nice, so is the 'film strip'.

JMO, I think combining the film strip (full 24x24) and enlarging the DVD (to the head area, sans the head), would look cool as a logo icon. A colorful DVD on the black film strip would stand out and be easily recognizable at small sizes.

+1

@ Dad

I think your image rocks too, I like the concept of DVDs to pictures. Maybe the different colors have to be tweaked to stand out more?

Cheers

Bummer......My "save as" window in Inkscape won't show up. Guess I can't use inkscape if I can't save. Huh

Thanks for being so friendly Jaws. I'm sure I will find the best logo for Imagination. Some members already posted some very interesting logos. I'm very grateful to them for their contribution.

I did the same for Xarchiver stunning logo, a guy named Uracile made it:
