I have never seen anything as convoluted and confusing as their art submission page..I tried three times to submit my jackalope theme and kept ending back where I started. Has anyone her submitted anything to Ubuntu before? I wrote their webmaster complaining about how confusing it was.

I have browsed their art areas and realized there's a disturbing presence of about 95% of the work consisting of an image of some scantily clad lady (often seemingly very young) with the Ubuntu logo pasted ontop of it The 4% is some pretty freaky, way out there stuff... and the remaining 1% is actual nice artwork. So, I never got any further than browsing..... I know it seems like bashing but... it's actually more of a fact. Had you posted the question within the forum? That's probably the best way to get some help or.... you could go to KDE-LOOK and ask this guy http://www.kde-look.org/usermanager/search.php?username=jmming he could assist you.. Mind you, his English is rough so bear with him.. he's extremely nice

I've only seen the jackalope stuff...Not seen the weird stuff. Sure,I'll ask him for help...Thanks. So far,no one on the Ubuntu forums has responded, which is very discouraging. No response from the guy at KDE look. I joined Ubuntu's launch pad,,still have no clue what I'm supposed to do,no help files to get newbies from point A to point B...

Hi Goz,
It's OK to double post. Your edited posts don't show up as new so they may be missed.
Make a new post so folks will definitely see it in the future.
Cheers

I get that very same feeling... but, it is a huge community, and is managed on a corporate level soooo... The best suggestion, would be to upload your Ubuntu work to either : http://www.gnome-look.org/or http://www.ubuntu-art.org/

Yep, you seem to need a little help here.... the ladies are called babes or preferably U-babe-tu Ahh... and here I thought the Ubuntu philosophy was all about making linux easy to install and use, now I see that it is really just a way to objectify women. We should thank Mr. Space Tourist Shuttleworth for his contribution to the patriarchy is called copyright infringement I'm so funny I kill me! Actually it is trademark infringement, unless they stole the picture of the women (which is very likely). Kinda like the hub-bub about the HRM group's logo http://www.hmrgroup.co.uk/ which isn't really trademark infringement as Canonical and the HRM group aren't competitors, etc. Not sure how the legalities work out in that situation.

Was talking bout the picture I'm quite sure some guy creating a splash isn't gonna pay some photographer a few thousand bucks for permission to use his/her photos.

I just installed Ubuntu. Fedora was my first step in to the world of Linux, but I must admit that I now know why Ubuntu is so raved about. I'm definitely going to do some art for Ubuntu as well.

We should thank Mr. Space Tourist Shuttleworth for his contribution to the patriarchy The site is not a official channel for Ubuntu. It is infact linux users/fans who objectify women. Thank you Mr. Shuttleworth for your contributions
