Hello,
I'm ljogerst from over at the MepisLovers.com forum. I was told this was a pretty friendly place over here with some really talented artists on board that might be interested in helping us with the artwork for the next Mepis Linux release.  There's just a couple of us at Mepislovers that put together the artwork for the last release (8.0). It turned out OK, but we are looking for some help. If anyone is interested, I posted a shout out over on MepisLovers with a few guidelines here http://mepislovers.org/forums/showthread.php?t=22187. We've been posting the submissions over at our Art Gallery here: http://mepis.gabston-howell.org/art/categories.php?cat_id=15.

Feel free to post here or at MepisLovers with any questions or concerns.
Thanks in advance!

P.S.
I just registered today, but it looks like I could learn a lot about artwork on this forum... it seems to be put together well.
Thanks!

Hi ljogerst,

Let me welcome you to LGU and yes, I would hope we're a friendly place to ask questions and enjoy our site... and most importantly learn about using the great graphics tools that Linux offers.

I'm a recent first time user of Mepis and I'm really liking it.... great distro. Warren and your folks have done an impressive job of making a distro to be proud of.

Cheers

Gemini - Jaws,
Thanks guys for the welcome. Glad you've heard of Mepis, I'm not here to promote one distro over another, but during the Mepis 8.0 release, a lot of us at the MepisLovers Community wanted to beautify it so it looked as smooth as it runs, thankfully Warren let us help him. We did OK with 8.0, but I heard from some reliable sources this place had a lot of talent and knowledge over here. I hope to stick around awhile and learn some graphics tricks myself. I know enough about artwork to be dangerous  Smiley Seriously, I'm pretty good at knowing what looks good, just don't have all the skills yet to get it done myself yet. Anyway thanks again.

Hi, ljogerst!

Welcome to LGU.    Grin

I hope you and Brooko find all you want here and a bit more.  It's really good to see you here.  I've seen you as a serious asset over at ML for quite a while.  I hope we can be of assistance.   Smiley
