Don't feel bad Con.. sometimes I feel the same way, when it comes to graphics matters, or looking for really great educational & fun apps for the kids to run... Linux just seems to fail on the edu part completely (as far as competing with 3rd party kids software which runs on Win & Mac) and lags far behind in the graphics industry, as far as tablet support, and so-on.
I still love Linux but, realize that in order to succeed in the graphics industry, one "has to" have knowledge, posses, and use software which is not avail to run on Linux.
All in all, I will never let go of Linux (they'll have to pry it from my cold, dead hands
) But, alas, I may have to fire up the old xp machine again and, or look at 7
But hey, just do like everyone else does in a mid-life crisis... get a red corvette, a girlfriend much young (but of legal age) and get a tattoo, and you should be fine
Now, many people place the blame on MS for monopolizing the industry (when it comes to all these cool 3rd party software) but, truth is... 1/2 the problem has been the entire "FREE" crusade, which has scared off any and all who might even think ofporting to Linux, to tap a virtually untapped market. Yes, I know.. I always say this but, it is true, and the "one thing: that will always hold Linux down, and right where it is.
